Bella’s Quick Aioli

Bellas Quick Aioli


Every home cook needs a go-to sauce, and this is mine. Bella's Quick Aioli comes together in just minutes with pantry staples, but tastes like something you'd find at a little seaside café. Creamy, garlicky, bright with lemon, and dotted with briny capers, it's the perfect finishing touch for seafood, sandwiches, roasted vegetables, and so much more.


You will need:


1 cup good mayonnaise ( DUKES!)

2 cloves garlic, finely grated

2 tbsp capers, drained and roughly chopped

1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1 tsp lemon zest (optional, but highly recommended)

1/4 tsp kosher salt

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste


In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, grated garlic, chopped capers, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Season with the kosher salt and several cracks of fresh black pepper. Stir until everything is well combined. Refrigerate for at least 15–30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving.


Bella's Tips

  • Use a microplane to grate the garlic into a smooth paste—it melts right into the sauce.

  • For an even brighter flavor, add a little extra lemon zest just before serving.

  • This aioli keeps well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Perfect With

  • Fish cakes or crab cakes

  • Grilled or fried shrimp

  • Pan fried salmon and grouper

  • Roasted asparagus or broccoli

  • Crispy potatoes and French fries
