Costa Rica is a rugged, rainforested Central American country with coastlines on the Caribbean and Pacific. Though its capital, San Jose, is home to cultural institutions like the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, Costa Rica is known for its beaches, volcanoes, and biodiversity. Roughly a quarter of its area is made up of protected jungle, teeming with wildlife including spider monkeys and quetzal birds.
I have been twice to Costa Rica, and I would have been ok with one trip. However my son and daughter in law got married there, so the second trip of course, was necessary. The bumpy, un-air conditioned long rides from the airport to lodging weren’t appealing, and the areas you drive through are depressing.
The first trip I went with a group of fun girls, we rented golf carts and explored the area. We were in Playa Flamingo staying in a big Air bnb. The house was beautiful and came with a cook. But the cooks niece came along with her, and she just gave me the creeps. The second trip, the wedding, we stayed at Dreams Resort. This was a beautiful resort, all inclusive, on the water with open bars and monkeys everywhere!
While it’s beautiful, in my opinion, there are just as many other beautiful places in the world, and even right here in the US.
There wont be a 3rd trip for me!
