Creamy Sweet Potato’s

Creamy whipped sweet potatoes made lighter with Greek yogurt. A smooth, tangy twist on classic mashed sweet potatoes, perfect side dish for any meal but especially with a roast of any kind.   This is also perfect for your Thanksgiving table!


You will need:


2 lbs sweet potatoes

3 tbsp unsalted butter (room temp)

½ cup plain Greek yogurt (whole milk is best, but 2% works too)

1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional, for balance)

½ tsp kosher salt (more to taste)

¼ tsp black pepper

Pinch of nutmeg, or smoked paprika


Peel and cut into 2-inch chunks.

Place in a large pot, cover with cold water, and season generously with salt.Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, and cook until fork tender (15–20 min).Drain well, return to the hot pot, and let steam off for 1–2 min.

Using a hand mixer (or stand mixer with whisk), whip the sweet potatoes until smooth.

Beat in butter until melted, then fold in the Greek yogurt.Mix in maple syrup, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
