When you have a hankering for sauce during the week but you dont have a ton of time, this is still better than buying jarred sauce!
You will need:
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 garlic cloves garlic minced
1/2 cup chopped vidalia onion
2 28 oz cans crushed tomatoes
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp chopped basil
Splash of red wine ( you can determine that measurement)
2 tbsp butter
Heat olive oil in pan, add garlic and cook until lightly toasted. Add red pepper flakes, and onion. Cook until onion softens about 10 minutes. Add tomatoes, salt, wine and basil. Bring to a simmer and cook for 45 minutes. Add butter near the end, stir and simmer another 10 minutes.
Serve over your favorite pasta.
