Santa Barbara California

Santa Barbara is a city on the central California coast, with the Santa Ynez Mountains as dramatic backdrop. Downtown, Mediterranean-style white stucco buildings with red-tile roofs reflect the city’s Spanish colonial heritage. Upscale boutiques and restaurants offering local wines and seasonal fare line State Street. On a nearby hill, Mission Santa Barbara, founded in 1786, houses Franciscan friars and a museum .

Oh what an absolutely beautiful place, and one of my favorite trips for sure. Not only did we stay in town, but we drove up the PCH and the views were breathtaking.

We flew into LAX, grabbed a car and headed to Malibu for lunch. From there we headed to Santa Barbara and enjoyed the town, then went up to Carmel and Monterrey for a few days. Along the way we stopped in Paso Robles for wine tastings. Honestly the wine there is better than Napa in my opinion.

We stayed at the Fess Parker Hotel which is now called the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort. We had an ocean front room with a huge balcony where we could watch the sun set in the evenings.
