The Pathless Path

Every day on LinkedIn, I see more "Open to Work" banners and more posts from heartbroken employees who gave everything to a company.

Twenty-plus years. Long hours. Nights, weekends, holidays. Building trusted client relationships, solving problems, surviving endless reorganizations, adapting to new leaders, new reporting structures, and ever-changing demands.

Many will move to a competitor, hoping the grass is greener, only to discover they're standing in the same field with a different logo.

So what are people doing to prepare for the day corporate America decides they're no longer needed?

When their once-impressive résumé doesn't carry the same weight. When experience is viewed as expensive. When younger talent is hired for half the salary.

This is why I believe so strongly in passion projects.

Love to travel? Cook? Garden? Write? Create?

Start building something around it now.

Not because you need it today, but because one day you might.

A passion project can become a second act. A side income can become a lifeline. A hobby can become a business.

The pathless path isn't always about chasing more money. Sometimes it's about creating options, maintaining independence, and having a parachute ready before corporate America decides to push you out of the airplane.

Build it while you still have the security of a paycheck. You may be grateful you did.
