Vienna Austria

Vienna has completely enchanted me. From the moment I arrived, the city felt like pure magic!
I spent my first day wandering through St. Stephen’s Cathedral and St. Peter’s Church, both so breathtaking they stopped me in my tracks. Their soaring ceilings and intricate details made me feel as if I’d stepped back in time. A stroll around the Imperial Palace, with horse-drawn carriages passing by, felt almost surreal.
Of course, Vienna’s food won me over too, starting with a schnitzel that rivaled Oma’s, perfectly crispy and tender. Later, I savored coffee and warm streusel dripping with vanilla cream, and yes… I almost licked the plate clean.
As evening fell, the Christmas markets lit up the city with twinkling lights, music, and the comforting scent of spices. I wandered with a steaming mug of mulled wine (another beautiful ceramic mug for the collection!) and picked up handcrafted ornaments for the grandkids.
Day two was just as magical. A different Christmas market, more mulled wine, more festive cheer, and an unforgettable slice of Sachertorte—rich, glossy, and every bit as decadent as I imagined. Gentle snowflakes began to fall, making the whole city feel like a winter postcard.
I ended the night at a Mozart and Strauss concert in a historic hall, the music echoing through the room in the most breathtaking way.
Vienna reminds me of Italy; the sophistication, fashion, the art, architecture, the grand love and ritual for coffee.
